I'm Transferred !!!
I'm transferred! only one month in Sibu, and I'm out of there. So now i'm in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. (and we are living with the senior couple here for a couple weeks, until they go home, and we take over their apartment, so i'm emailing on their computer. so email, twice in one pday, yay!)
Let me tell you, sabah is awesome. i can't even describe it. there have never been sisters here before. or actually, i think there were sisters here ten years ago, but i heard that their apartment got broken into, so they sent them out. But the day after we left Sibu, the sister's house got broken into, so really it could happen anywhere. So me and sister richey are basically breaking history! its so cool, my mtc teachers would talk about it, and i remember wanting to go to sabah so so bad. And saying, maybe one day, it will be open to sisters.. and i even mentioned it to the president's wife when i got to singapore. and now, i'm there already, i can't even believe it!
so basically, sabah is awesome because 1) it is beautiful here. our apartment looks right out over the ocean, i'll send you a picture, beautiful turquoise water, green islands, like a postcard, no joke. 2)there are so many cool things to do, mount kinabalu is only an hour and a half away (tallest mountain in southeast asia whoot whoot!) and lots of museums and just really awesome things 3)the language is no longer messed up, everybody here speaks really good malay, really fast malay. the elders who really get good at malay all serve in sabah, so i'm pretty excited for that
and the church is also really good here, they have a chapel even.
and we live right in downtown, super close to all the shops and the open market(you would die if you saw it, farmers market times infinity, and it is every day!) the malls, and most importantly, the bus terminal. because we have no bikes here :(. the buses are crazy, a huge parking lot full of them, and people are just yelling out where these buses are going, so you can usually find the right bus. most of the time the buses are just vans, and they wait until they are full, and then they ride away, loud music blasting the whole way. and when you catch a bus not at the terminal, you either go to a stop like normal, or you can just stand by the side of the road and wave them down as they pass. they will probably stop for white people.
here is my new address, the mail is a little better here than in Sibu, and I think that I will be here for a long time, at least I hope so:

and if you give that out to anyone, just make sure that they don't put sister on it. and packages should always go to singapore, because for sure it will get there. I'm so excited for that to be on the back of the program at church! because i'm in Malaysia, not singapore, its much cooler here.
